WHEN DID YOU BEGIN CULTIVATING YOUR PRACTICE?
I took my first vinyasa class at Harmony Yoga in Willoughby on March 2, 2011 and was hooked ever since!
I received my certification on 9/15/2015 from Diana Vitantonio’s Soul Activist YTT program.
WHEN DID YOU BEGIN HELPING OTHERS CULTIVATE THEIR PRACTICE?
I received my teacher certification in 2015 and have taught some classes for friends, but I am really looking forward to teaching in a way that lets students find what feels good in their body, while building strength and moving intentionally.
HOW DO YOU ENVISION CULTIVATE YOGA SERVING OUR COMMUNITY?
I envision Cultivate Yoga as a space in the community where yoga is accessible to everybody and supportive of every body. As a donation-based studio, Cultivate removes some of the barriers to joining a class, giving all students an opportunity to feel good in their bodies, and learn the practice of yoga - both on and off the mat.
WHAT HAS YOGA HELPED TO CULTIVATE WITHIN YOU?
Yoga has cultivated so much in me over the years and continues to do so with each practice. I have seen an evolution of self-acceptance and appreciation, the ability to sit with hard things (both on and off the mat), more compassion for myself and others, the ability to recognize the difference between pain and discomfort (both physically and emotionally) - and learning how to adapt to both. Yoga has also cultivated new friendships and deepened existing connections, building a network of people who encourage, support, and celebrate in life’s wins - big or small.
BESIDES YOGA, WHAT IS ONE THING THAT CULTIVATES JOY IN YOUR LIFE?
Entertaining the people I love with themed parties.
